How do you pack

Ugh, we have been dreading packing for our move for a while now. We purchased 2 trunks from The Container Store and still get to bring two suitcases each. Chet has had no problem fitting his life into his 3 suitcases, I, on the other hand, have had at least 2 breakdowns. Clothes are not even the biggest problem. I have been hoarding medicines, my favorite sauces/spices, and books just to take to Vietnam. Here is an earlier conversation:

Me: "What books are you taking?"

Chet: "High-Powered Investing for Dummies, Macroeconomics For Today, and The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway. Why, what are you taking?"

Me: (glancing over at my past year's subscription to Martha Stewart Living) "Those." "Oh! and Gone with the Wind!"

Chet: "You're kidding, right."

Me: "Umm, nope." "They're my reference books."

Chet: (giant eye roll)

Soooo, I have managed to prove to him that I desperately need the past October and December issues of Martha Stewart Living. (I'm still working on November). Those lucky two issues get to travel to Vietnam, as for the other 10, they sadly must stay in Montana.

We will try to post pictures of our trip out of Billings to Hanoi on Thursday!

Ho Chi Minh Bound

Much to our delight, we found out we will be based in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Ho Chi Minh is full iof French influence and is actually known as the "Paris of Southeast Asia."

Here are some pictures,

We will be leaving for Vietnam the beginning of September and will live in Hanoi during our first month. We relocate to Ho Chi Minh in October. Can't wait!

Let the countdown begin!

Our countdown to Vietnam has begun! We will be leaving the States the beginning of September to start our new adventure as Pilots for Air Mekong. We will not have many posts until we arrive in Hanoi, but we can't wait to share our discoveries with you then.

We just married in April and have not been able to honeymoon since, so we are calling this our "Hanoi Honeymoon." We hope that many of our friends and family will be able to visit us on the other side of the world. Especially because we hope they bring us the western treats we feel we can't live without (read: mayonnaise, buffalo hot wing sauce, and trashy American reality show DVDs). So please friends, book those flights!

Thank you for following us!
